Appendicitis – Laparoscopic Appendectomy

Appendix – Inflammation of the appendix, a small, finger-shaped organ located in the lower right side of the abdomen. It is one of the most common abdominal emergencies requiring surgery.

Symptoms:

  1. Abdominal pain: The most common symptom is pain that starts around the navel and eventually moves to the lower right side of the abdomen. The pain can be severe and sharp and often worsens with movement or pressure.
  2. Loss of appetite: Many individuals with appendicitis experience a loss of appetite and may have difficulty eating.
  3. Nausea and vomiting: Nausea and vomiting are common symptoms, often occurring after the onset of abdominal pain.
  4. Fever: In some cases, individuals with appendicitis may develop a low-grade fever.
  5. Change in bowel movements: Appendicitis can cause changes in bowel movements, including diarrhea or constipation.
  6. Abdominal swelling and tenderness: The abdomen may become swollen and tender to the touch, particularly in the lower right side.
  7. If Acute Appendicitis not operated in time it may cause Perforation, Intestinal obstruction, Appendicular Lump & Abscess.
  8. In chronic Appendicitis, will continue recurrent pain abdomen that may last for years.(20-30Years).
